Loam Soil Holds Water Better Than Sand or Clay — but It Still Won't Tell You When a Bed Is Dry

Search "loam soil" and every result agrees on one thing: it's the ideal. Balanced sand-silt-clay, drains well, holds nutrients, the texture you'd build toward if you could.
